Art at the Powell House in Nevada City
The newly restored Powell House in Nevada City is hosting art exhibits.
Renowned Painter Judith Lowry is hosting an art exhibit at the Powell House — open Tuesday through Saturday until November 10.
The opening for “Evolutions of Tradition: A Survey of Californian Indian Art” was held the evening before Nisenan Heritage Day and was attended by some of California’s premier Native artists.
Tiffany Adams, fine Abalone jeweler and regalia maker, is pictured here in the Gallery with her Patsuni and Dance Belt on display.
The Powell garnered the most tickets for the Nevada City Uncorked wine event.
And there will be an elegant New Year’s Eve wedding at the Powell House as well.
Powell House at 203 South Pine Street was originally a Baptist church where the famous Gold Rush singer Emma Nevada got her start singing as a child.
Owner Brad Croul purchased the house and renovated it extensively.
