Gold Miners Inn in Grass Valley: “Very fresh and new”

THE ADAGE “IF YOU BUILD it, they will come” is ringing true for the Gold Miners Inn in Grass Valley, the newest full service hotel in the region.

Only three years old, this Holiday Inn Express hotel provides premium amenities for traveling families and business travelers. It has 80 affordable rooms, including 22 studio suites with a separate living space.

“Very fresh and new,” said one guest, adding, “A very good place in the Gold Country to base day trips from.”

The hotel is within walking distance of downtown. It also is close to popular restaurants, such as Tofanelli’s Gold Country Bistro, Kane’s Fine Food and Maria’s Mexican restaurant is across the street.

Guset amenities include free wi-fi, free ground-level guest parking, fitness cener, free breakfast and nightly wine, beer and cocktail reception. It also is dog friendly.

The Gold Miners Inn also can arrange for wine tours. It also can recommend hiking and biking tours. For art fans, The Cener for the Arts and local galleries are within walking distance.

The hotel offers an event patio and four conference rooms, with the largest able to accommodate 200 people. At 7,000 square feet, the conference space is the largest in the foothills.

The patio is ideal for weddings, and the conference rooms help bring people to town for mid-week meetings.

The Gold Miners Inn has a large, attractive lobby, decorated with historical photos dating back to the Gold Rush. It also hosts local art shows.

This summer, the Towers Casino and Card Room is expected to open in a ground- floor building that is adjacent to the Inn.

“It will help promote tourism in the area,” says General Manager Steve Young. “People will come for a card tournament and make a weekend of it, to visit the towns, go wine tasting or see a show.”
